Iconic ex-footballer David Beckham has announced that he’s not eaten meat for the past three weeks.

The star, who is the current president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF, says he has ‘never’ changed his diet like this before – and said the experience ‘hadn’t been easy, but actually enjoyable’.

Thanks for watching!

‘Amazing’

Beckham showed off an array of veggie dishes to his 64.4 million Instagram followers, including courgetti with mushrooms, aubergine with blue cheese, a mango and avocado entree, chickpea salad, veggie soup, smoked watermelon, and sweet potato.

He also posted a picture of a chilled pea soup, which he described as ‘amazing’.

Fur controversy

In the past, Beckham has come under fire for wearing animal-fur after being photographed donning a coyote fur-trimmed Canada Goose coat.

Vegan chairty PETA called on the athlete to ‘open his eyes to victimisation and needless cruelty’ – saying it has shared videos of the brutal fur industry with him.

In a statement sent to Plant Based News, PETA Director Elisa Allen said: “We’ll defend David’s right to wear his own hair as he pleases, but wearing the fur from a wild animal who suffered mightily in a barbaric steel trap – which is what happens to coyotes killed for Canada Goose – is utterly indefensible.”
