Vegan brand Loma Linda, which is owned by Atlantic Natural Foods, has launched two plant-based ready meals in supermarket chain Aldi.
The brand’s meat-free Chipotle Bowl and Taco Filling will hit stores across the U.S from September 1, retailing at $2.99 per pouch.
In a statement sent to Plant Based News, Linda Loma said: “Whether plant-based or not, they are both delish in tacos, burritos, breakfast scrambles, you name it, and the Chipotle Bowl is also a perfectly simple heat-and-eat meal on its own.
“These pouches can be easily prepared in 60 seconds and conveniently incorporated into weekly menus. Each meal is non-GMO, gluten-free, and packed with six-nine grams of plant-based protein per serving (roughly two servings per pouch.”
Loma Linda is best known for its vegan tuna range – dubbed TUNO – which is available in a slew of U.S retailers including Walmart, Safeway, Sprouts, Delhaize, Wegmans, Costco, and Amazon.
Last year, the range – which comes in five flavors including Lemon Pepper, Sweet Chilli, TUNO Mayo, Sesame Ginger, and Spring Water – launched at U.K supermarket Morrisons in the tinned fish aisle.
It is made from ‘soy protein and natural flavorings’ and contains less than 90 calories per serving.
