U.K searches for vegan ice-cream for skyrocketed by 181 percent over the last three years, according to Ocado.
The online retailer says the numbers prove its customers are ‘actively interested in discovering plant-based alternatives’.

Ocado shared the data as it discussed a new addition to its vegan ice-cream line-up.
The outlet now sells Banana Scoops – described as the ‘UK’s first vegan banana ice-cream made from entirely natural ingredients’.
The ice-cream, which comes in three flavors (Banilla – banana and vanilla, Chocolate, and Raspberry), retails in recyclable 500ml tubs at RRP £5.49.

“Searches for vegan ice cream have risen by 181 percent over the past three years, so we know that our customers are actively interested in discovering plant-based alternatives,” Kerry Barker, buying manager at Ocado, said in a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living.
“Working with innovative artisan brands like Banana Scoops enables us to offer even more choices to our extensive vegan ice cream range.”
‘Doing things differently’
According to the producer Banana Scoops: “We’re…asmall, British brand that likes doing things differently. We think you should be able to enjoy ice cream all year long without having to compromise on taste or the quality of ingredients. And that’s why we started the company, to offer you healthy, vegan, and banana-based nice cream.
“With low calories (from 156 per half tub) and made mostly from fruit, it’s so healthy you could even have it for breakfast! We also care about the environment, which is why all of our pots are 100 percent recyclable and we’re working on reducing our carbon footprint as much as possible.
“As well as being vegan, the ice creams offer a healthier alternative this summer as they are also free from refined sugars, artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners and are low in fat.”
